Rowan Williams and His Holiness the Dalai Lama hosted an event bringing together hundreds of children and young people from five charities. The event’s focus: the hopes and fears of a new generation. Some 645 children lined up along the arrival route to London’s Newton Prep, creating a grand procession as they sang a welcome song for him, Lord Williams and his entire entourage.
Young visitors performed and participated in the conference from the following charities and schools: Chickenshed, London Bubble, Christ the King Catholic Church, The Holy Spirit Church, The Hackney Pirates, Kid’s Venture, Newton Prep, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary, St George’s Church of England Primary, Newton Prep School.
The monks from the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in South India further enriched the day as they tapped out coloured sand into a sand mandala.
